Bomba Nights at BarrioBX
Residents of NYC can look forward to seeing BombaYo perform live every third Thursday of each month! BombaYo has held a residency at BarrioBX, now going on four years strong, where we encourage patrons of all ages and skill levels to dance, connect with their ancestors, and feed both the body and soul. Located in the southeastern section of the Bronx, BarrioBX: Bar, Kitchen, Culture is a Puerto Rican restaurant that turns out traditional Puerto Rican dishes and drinks, all the while platforming a variety of artists and cultural groups including live DJ's, poets, and of course, BombaYo.

Juntos con la Bomba Classes
BombaYo regularly offers registration into a 3-month long course titled, "Juntos con la Bomba," where applicants are expected to learn and practice the fundamentals of Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba music and dance. Participants must make a firm commitment to attend classes with the purpose of connecting to our roots to heal and inspire change in not only ourselves, but each other as well. Donations are accepted on a sliding scale between $10 to $20 per class (no walk-ins). No experience necessary!
The Annual BomBarBecue
Every summer, BombaYo invites all people — longtime supporters, fresh newcomers, and prominent community leaders — to a one-time annual event we call The BomBarBecue. This fundraising event, hosted by The Andrew Freedman Home in the Bronx, is a place where attendants can enjoy an afternoon of of live performances, Puerto Rican cuisine, and an awards program honoring those community leaders that share the same mission as BombaYo's. Celebrating the founding of BombaYo, we want to remind attendees that our efforts would not be possible without the support from the people. The BomBarBecue is our way of giving back to those who gave us so much. 2026 will mark the 20th Anniversary of BombaYo.
